(Kickstart information provided by Craig Nelson)
Taree Motorcycle Club will be running a Kickstart course for new Junior riders at the Old Bar Roadside circuit on Saturday 17th November 2018 starting at 9:00am.
Kickstart is the very first step before Junior riders 7-16 years can begin competitive motorcycling. It is to assess the riders’ ability and to pass on information and skills that will help them get a licence to start competitive riding.
Kickstart will normally take two-three (2-3) hours to complete and the rider will get time on the track during the process.
They will need to provide their own motorcycle and adequate safety gear.
Riders 4 to 7 years can participate in the demonstration class on race and practice days at the track and are not required to complete the Kickstart. They will however need to purchase a day licence or yearly demonstration class licence before they can attend one of the club race or practice days.
Craig Nelson, previously Taree Motorcycle Club’s President of five years’ standing and an accomplished rider himself, will be conducting the program on this coming Saturday.
Craig commented that, “Those younger riders are welcome to complete the Kickstart process with some of the older riders because I believe it to be a good induction to the Club and also to the sport”.
While Craig is still active in the Club, Taree Motorcycle Club is pleased to have a past President assisting new, young riders to take part in the sport of motorcycling in Taree.
To express your interest in the Kickstart course or for further details contact Craig Nelson directly on 0412 366 260 or visit the Taree Motorcycle Club website.
A Practice day will then be held at the track on Sunday 18th November, with gates opening at 8:00am; sign-in finishing at 9:30am; and riding commencing at 10:00am.
