On the previous weekend, Taree Motorcycle Club riders competed in race meetings at Somersby and Kempsey.
On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, Taree Motorcycle Club Juniors, Hayden Nelson, Cody Wilby and Kurt Wilby and Senior, Blake Wilby, competed in the 2019 Central Coast Cup at Allen Park, Somersby. While, on Sunday, TMC Juniors, Tyler Harrison and Thoren Openshaw and Senior, Dale Austin, took part in Kempsey Motorcycle Club’s Grass Track Round 3.
After participating in a previous “Come-and-Try” Day at Taree Motorcycle Club, the grass track meeting at Kempsey was Tyler Harrison’s first competitive event.
This coming weekend, motorcycling action returns to the Taree Motorcycle Club track.
Taree Motorcycle Club is offering three (3) different opportunities for motorcycle riding over two (2) consecutive days over the weekend of Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June at our Old Bar Roadside complex.
On Saturday, there will be Practice on the oiled dirt track for the Seniors and Juniors who already have track time and “Come-and-Try” activities on the grass for Juniors who are learning.
Taree Motorcycle Club President, Troy Baker, explained that “Come-and Try” is for riders under sixteen (16) years of age, who are beginners or novices.
It is non-competitive and will feature rider training, bike set-up tips, some “Minikhana-style” exercises and the participants will ride laps on the grass whilst being supervised by our senior coaches and members.
Troy added that knobby tyres can be run as the participants won’t be riding on the oil track.
Taree Motorcycle Club Vice President, Ian Bisley, will again run the “Come-and-Try” activities on Saturday.
On Sunday, Round 4 of the Club Championship will be held with racing on the oiled dirt track for Juniors and Seniors.
More experienced Junior and the Senior Taree Motorcycle Club and visitor riders can make a weekend of the opportunities at Taree, with practice on the oiled dirt on Saturday and racing on Sunday.
Saturday and Sunday will be the last opportunity for Juniors, who will be entering the 2019 NSW Junior Dirt Track Championship, to practise and race on the TMC Old Bar Roadside circuit before the State event is held at the track in July – in less than six (6) weeks’ time.
With the variety of motorcycling on offer over one weekend at Taree Motorcycle Club’s complex, the Club is confident that there will be many Junior and Senior entries for practice one day and racing the next as well as a good attendance of Juniors coming to try motorcycle riding for a repeat, or the first, time.
The coming weekend is another in Taree not to be missed by the motorcycling and wider community.
