Taree Motorcycle Club’s Craig Nelson again showed himself to be an accomplished rider, achieving a podium position on Sunday 18th November in Armidale Motorcycle Club’s ‘Enduro’ event at Bannawerra, Uralla.
After Craig conducted a Kickstart course for juniors at the Taree Motorcycle Club Old Bar Roadside circuit on Saturday, Craig and his family embarked on a trip up to the tablelands, where he and son, Hayden, rode in Sunday’s ‘Enduro’ event at Uralla.
Taree Motorcycle Club members, the Openshaw family, also travelled inland, where father and son, John and Thoren, rode in the ‘Enduro’ event.
#297 Hayden Nelson has achieved numerous podium finishes, including on the top step, in NSW and Australian Championship meetings over previous years, and in 2017 was the Australian Junior Dirt Track Champion in the 85cc 2st/150cc 4st Standard Wheel 9-U11yrs class.
#296 Thoren Openshaw was recently placed first in the 65cc 9-U13yrs class at the Akubra Classic.
The ‘Enduro’ event at Uralla on Sunday required Seniors, Craig and John, to ride for two (2) hours and Juniors, Hayden and Thoren, to ride for one and a half (1.5) hours.
Taree Motorcycle Club congratulates its previous President, Craig, on his great effort earning him second placing in the over 35s age group in the ‘Enduro’ event. Well done, also, to Hayden Nelson for his fourth place in his group.
Jodie Nelson reported that John, Thoren, Craig and Hayden all enjoyed themselves on a rough and rocky course.
At Taree Motorcycle Club’s circuit on Sunday, 18 November 2018, while a contingent of riders, including some from Kempsey, turned out for the Club’s Practice Day on the oiled, dirt track, rain caused practice to be called off before the riders had any track time.
